Global Warming
We are constantly bombarded with the news of how we are destroying the earth. On January 22, 2019, Alexander Ocasio-Cortez said the earth will end in 12 years due to climate change. She strongly believes it is up to us to change this course of utter destruction.
Many continue with this gloom and doom prognostication to instill fear into the hearers. When fear comes, then we are willing to give up freedoms we once enjoyed. We need to just look at the COVID pandemic. When it started, many were more than willing to give up their freedoms in the United States. They allowed the government to track humans, shut down businesses and enforce individuals to put an untested/unproven vaccine in their body without knowing the true side effects.
One thing we can have confidence in is the Word of God. However, the enemy is constantly trying to sway us from trusting the Word of God is true. We see this in the very beginning when the serpent questioned Eve regarding what God had told them about the tree of knowledge of good and evil. “Yea hath God said?” (Genesis 3:1)
The devil hasn’t changed as he continues to try and get as many as he can to question if God really meant what he said in His Word, which brings us to global warming. After God had destroyed the earth with a flood, Noah built an altar to the Lord and offered a sacrifice. We find this recorded in Genesis 8:20-22:
And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
At the end, it is recorded that while the earth remains, the seasons will continue, day and night shall not cease. Yet, we hear the cries of this impending doom of climate change and global warming, which will end the seasons and destroy the earth. These cries of catastrophe are contrary to what we read in the Word. Remember, in the last days, the Word of God says satan will give his power to the world government (Revelation 13), so is it any surprise that these political leaders are quoted as saying things which are contrary to God’s Word? “Yea, hath God said?”
